thigh gap...

thigh gap, thigh gap, thigh gap
what is the big deal?

if you use pinterest, type "thigh gap" into the search bar.  a whole slew of exercises pull up.  in addition there is photo after photo of extremely thin women with no muscle tone, kind of like this...

but they have the thigh gap.  just look at the beautiful void between her thighs.  come on, where in the world do these crazy obsessions come from?

maybe i am just jealous because my physical make up leaves it nearly impossible for me to obtain a thigh gap.  i am knock kneed.  when i stand with my feet together my legs look like they have been zippered closed.  i don't have a calf gap, a just above the knee gap, let alone a thigh gap.  however i do have muscles and even some cellulite.  gasp!  i am 37 it was bound to happen.

as most of you know i am not totally comfortable with the top of my legs.  i will admit that i stand in front of the mirror, reach around and pull the top of my thighs back to get rid of the extra fat and skin that resides there.  i will also admit that i like the way it looks.  during the time i am staring at the thighs i wish i had my mind skips to the tight-skirt-in-the-summer-with-no-hosiery-days thinking, "man it would be nice to not have my sweaty thighs sticking together, if only..."  keep dreaming flo it's never going to happen.

so here's the deal, i have no idea why women are obsessed with the thigh gap.  every man i have ever talked to or been with seems to prefer a woman with a little extra meat to their frame and honestly i don't blame them who wants to roll around in the sack with a skeleton?  besides if you just spread your legs a little, or a lot, you will have achieved that elusive thigh gap without the rigors of exercises that won't ever change your bone structure.

i will leave you this picture

which look do you prefer?

The apple butt.

Both. The fantasy is both about being able to see through the gap which is inherently naughty! But it is also the fantasy of 'easy access' for more naughtiness.

TC...that is an interesting perspective one i did not consider.

I'll admit I'm a gapper lover, but when it comes down to it, there are 100 more important qualifications.

T.R., thank you for sharing. i'm curious what exactly is it about the gap that is so appealing? also was this something you were drawn to before it became such a big deal?

I don't know about the popularity thing, I've just always been drawn to a nice small butt; they tend to go hand in hand. Of course, my GF may not appreciate knowing this, but she more than makes up for it in every other way.

I does work better when the ankles can touch while the knees don't. Just saying!

So as you can see, guys do prefer the look of the thigh gap (bag of bones as you so nicely put it), despite what you wrote in your article

The truth is, there are men who find thigh gaps attractive and men who do not. The same with women. We all have our different preferences and it's okay.

Also, you're projecting. You admit that you pull your thighs back and like what you see. The reason is because slim legs is inherently feminine (the opposite of masculine) and highly coveted (it takes work and discipline to get it if you're not born lucky and so it is more highly valued).

Anyway Flo, I should tell you that there is hope for you yet. You are not stuck with bigger thighs because of your "hips". It's ridiculous what people tell themselves when they simply don't want to put int he work.

The thigh gap boils down to stubborn lower body fat. This fat is stubborn because the body wants to hold on to it so that it is readily prepared should you become preggers.

To fight the stubborn body fat you have to do a little bit more (that is if you don't want to wait forever for results).

In that end, I'd recommend you check out the book 'The Thigh Gap Hack'. It has a separate protocol for women who need to lose fat and for women who need to lose muscles as there are some women with overdeveloped muscles that prevent them from having the svelte look they desire.

There's no talk in there about starving or excessive working out - just real shortcuts that many celebrities and models employ to boost their metabolism and burn more fat.

best of luck to you!

100% the right one. Nothing wrong with a thighgap but so not worth it if stick legs are also achieved.
